Friday is always an extremely stressful day, last Friday was more stressful than usual. So, my officemates and I went to Blue Wave to unwind. I told them I just wanted cake, so the first pastry shop that greeted me was Cheesecakes Etc., kaya dun na kami kumain. Medyo magulo yung Blue Wave ang dami kasing tao but Cheesecakes was quite homey and QUIET so that was an added bonus.
I just waited for them to decide but I already knew what I would be eating, Chocolate cake.
So I ordered the Choco True Confection and the Parfait.
OMG! I could live inside that cake, so I declared. It was moist enough but the chocolate taste and flavor oozed and I loved it. Decadent. That's all I can say.
I think it was a flourless cake as it had this solid consistency unlike a chocolate chiffon, which is usually airy. I love the chocolate that they used, I don't know if it was Ghirardelli or Ricoa but it was good, the ganache was not as shiny but it tasted great.
The parfait was OK, I guess you can't expect anything more from a jelly dessert. Tingin ko they used Jell-O iba kasi lasa eh. It tasted good, I would have wanted more whipped cream.
So, I had my dessert fix for 250 at Cheesecakes and I was satisfied. Hindi ko lang inubos kasi mataba na ako. Baka lalo na akong tumaba hehehe [^_^]

FOODIE: North Park
May naisip na akong gawin sa blog na 'to.
I love food. I would die for food, that's why i'll make this a food blog. Hehehe. That would be fun.
So last night, I was craving for Chinese food and where else would I eat if not at my mostest favoritest (extreme superlatives, eh?) Chinese resto. North Park. I was introduced to it I think, way back in high school. Ever since I've had a torrid food affair with the restaurant.
Sabi nga ng nanay ko, "dyan ka nanaman kakain? nakakasuka na." hehehe
So anyway, my mom's somewhere in the Visayas enjoying her summer vacation and the like, she can't do anything about me eating there. I asked wifey and angel to come with me.
We went to mass first and then we decided to go to Glorietta. So, it was North Park Glorietta 5. There were a lot of diners probably because it was a Sunday night, baka pumunta din sila dun kasama ng families nila.
Anyway, we ordered the following:
a. Lechon Macau over Fried Rice
b. Siomai
c. Noodles in soup with Nanking Beef - Hong Kong style
d. Lumpiang Shanghai
e. Four Seasons and Cold Soy Milk
We ordered a lot for two and a half (angel baby) people. Everything tasted great. You should try the Lechon, it was really crispy, one issue though it was extremely fatty; I should have expected that from Lechon. It was SHINY!
The siomai was a bit dry, I think that's an issue with this resto; i've been dining here for quite some time and have tried other branches, it's not consistent. Some branches serve really moist siomai, i like the ones with the really soft shells.
The Nanking Beef noodles was impeccable. You should always insist on HK noodles; unless you want to try green noodles or brown noodles. I did try them before and nothing beats a classic.
The Lumpiang Shanghai was so-so. Nothing great and nothing to complain about. So overall, we spent 701 for a dinner that would be enough for 4 people.
Another thing, they should be more efficient, everything came in a little late and the dining area was extremely chaotic as the servers were running around ALL the time.
